  Lorton, VA February 10, 2016 Dear Scott, Mike and I searched for over two years for a franchise that would fit our needs. When we came across Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids Franchise, we knew immediately it was worth pursuing. Within 15 minutes of inquiring about the franchise, I had a reply from Scott, the owner, followed by an initial phone call. You could tell immediately that Scott is a hard working honest professional. He takes pride is his business model and in all of the salons that open under that model. We are rookie business owners and Scott walked us through every step, from accompanying us to look at potential lease spaces to being available at a movements notice to answer questions and provide guidance. Even though our Sharkey's Cuts for Kids location has been over a year in the making, Scott has been by our side the entire way. He has always made sure we are informed and comfortable with the next step of the process and had patience in guiding us. His knowledge of the market has saved us thousands of dollars in start-up fees and ensured the perfect location. As new business owners, we have looked to Scott as a teacher and mentor. He has a gift for making you feel like you are his only store and that is something we never expected to find in this competitive fast paced marker. Mike and Jen Halston Sharkey's Cuts for Kids Lorton, VA  Seattle & Belevue, WA February 25, 2016 Dear Scott, My wife and I have never opened a business before and was very nervous after we signed our Franchise Agreement with Sharkey's. We didn't really know what to expect but Scott and our Area Developer (Anthony) helped us the entire way. I worked with my commercial broker to find a few spaces and after we found a few we liked our Area Developer flew down and spent all day viewing the sites and counting foot traffic to make sure this was the right location. Once we found our space, Scott and Anthony helped negotiate my lease. This was a little rough at first because the space was an open shell and originally we didn't get enough Tenant Improvement money. But Scott came to the rescue and helped renegotiate our lease to where our landlord covered almost all of the build out. Scott then helped us layout the design that best fit our space. Once we were about a month away from finishing our build, we started planning for our grand opening date. We initiated our marketing postcards which helped a lot and utilized social media. Scott always flies in the week of grand opening to put his magic touch to the store. Overall the process was fairly easy for our first business. Scott and Anthony were always available to take our phone calls and address our concerns. I would say just be prepared to store a lot of inventory 2 to 3 weeks before opening.
